Lake Norman Pet Grooming opened in 2016 with one table and one principle: treat every animal as if it were your own. That hasn't changed.
We're a team of five certified groomers handling everything from puppy first visits to senior care, breed-specific patterns, and cat grooming. Every appointment is given the time it actually needs, and every owner gets honest feedback at pickup.
Run through these eight points before your dog's grooming appointment for the smoothest possible session.
From arrival to pickup — here's what happens during a full grooming session.
Your groomer greets you, asks about any special requests, and does a brief assessment of the coat, skin, and nails before you leave. If there's anything to note, this is when we discuss it.
Before the bath, we brush through the coat to remove loose fur and work through any surface tangles. This prep makes the washing and drying process more effective.
Your dog is bathed with products suited to their coat type and skin condition. A conditioning treatment is applied and rinsed. Water temperature is checked carefully throughout.
Professional drying removes moisture thoroughly, which is important for both a clean finish and a mat-free coat. Heat and airflow are adjusted for the individual dog's coat and comfort level.
Haircut or style is completed to your specification. Nails are trimmed and filed. Ears are cleaned and checked. Any observations worth passing on are noted for pickup.
A finishing spray and any bows or bandanas are added. We call you when your pet is ready. At pickup, we share any notes from the session and answer any questions you have.

We've been bringing our Golden Retriever here for three years. Every single time she comes back looking fantastic and, more importantly, relaxed. Sarah and the team genuinely care about the animals, not just the result.
My Schnauzer is notoriously difficult to groom — he's bitten two other groomers over the years. James handled him with so much patience. First time in a long time he came home looking exactly like he should. I cannot recommend them enough.
Priya is amazing with our Persian cat who absolutely hates being groomed. She took her time, didn't rush, and called us when she sensed our cat needed a break. First grooming experience where our cat didn't hide for two days afterwards.
Brought my puppy in for his first groom with Marcus. He was so nervous going in. Came out wagging his tail. Marcus gave us a full debrief on what he liked and didn't like, and tips for brushing at home. Exactly what we needed.
My 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel has arthritis and needs careful handling. Elena is wonderful — she always positions him carefully and takes breaks when he needs them. I trust her completely with him.
I showed up with a reference photo for a Poodle cut and James nailed it perfectly. It's the first time I've ever gotten exactly what I wanted. Will absolutely be back every six weeks.
