Eight years of honest work in Nepean

Lake Norman Pet Grooming opened in 2016 with one table and one principle: treat every animal as if it were your own. That hasn't changed.

We're a team of five certified groomers handling everything from puppy first visits to senior care, breed-specific patterns, and cat grooming. Every appointment is given the time it actually needs, and every owner gets honest feedback at pickup.

What to Expect

Your grooming appointment, step by step

From arrival to pickup — here's what happens during a full grooming session.

Check-in & Assessment

Your groomer greets you, asks about any special requests, and does a brief assessment of the coat, skin, and nails before you leave. If there's anything to note, this is when we discuss it.

Brush-Out

Before the bath, we brush through the coat to remove loose fur and work through any surface tangles. This prep makes the washing and drying process more effective.

Bath & Conditioning

Your dog is bathed with products suited to their coat type and skin condition. A conditioning treatment is applied and rinsed. Water temperature is checked carefully throughout.

Blow-Dry & Comb-Through

Professional drying removes moisture thoroughly, which is important for both a clean finish and a mat-free coat. Heat and airflow are adjusted for the individual dog's coat and comfort level.

Trim, Nails & Ears

Haircut or style is completed to your specification. Nails are trimmed and filed. Ears are cleaned and checked. Any observations worth passing on are noted for pickup.

Finishing & Pickup

A finishing spray and any bows or bandanas are added. We call you when your pet is ready. At pickup, we share any notes from the session and answer any questions you have.

Frequently asked questions

Do you groom cats as well as dogs?
Yes — Priya Sharma is our dedicated cat grooming specialist. Cat appointments are scheduled separately from dog sessions to keep the salon calm. Please mention you have a cat when booking.
How long does a full grooming appointment take?
Most full grooming sessions take 2–4 hours depending on your dog's size and coat condition. We'll give you an estimated pickup time when you drop off, and we call when your pet is ready.
What vaccinations are required?
Dogs must have a current rabies vaccination. We recommend Bordetella as well, particularly for dogs who also attend daycare or dog parks. Please bring documentation on your first visit.
My dog is anxious — can you still groom them?
Yes. Anxiety during grooming is something our team has worked with extensively. Please tell us about your dog's history when booking so we can plan accordingly — allocate extra time, choose the right groomer, and use techniques suited to anxious animals.
How should I book an appointment?
Use the contact form on our contact page, email us at [email protected], or call us at 613-886-2736. We'll confirm your booking by phone or email and send a reminder closer to the date.
Can I stay during the grooming session?
Most pets actually settle faster when their owner isn't present — they shift their attention to the groomer rather than looking to their owner for reassurance. We don't offer owner-present grooming as a standard option, but you're welcome to discuss this with us if you have specific concerns.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the slot to another client. Repeated late cancellations may affect the ability to book future appointments without a deposit.
